ABOUT US

Project Kenya was created to help under-privileged children or young adults living in Kibera, one of the largest slums in Africa, to become self-reliant.

​

Pierrick Gould and his mom Marie Delecourt first volunteered at the Red Rose School and Uweza Foundation in 2017. Upon returning, they decided to continue to support the actions of the two organizations from home and created Project Kenya. Since then, they returned several time with volunteers and opened their actions to other organizations in Kenya.

​

Our objective is to make a difference in the life of the kids and young adults living in the slum by supporting programs developing talents, skills or abilities. Building self-confidence, giving hope and allowing them to explore new paths is the key towards self-reliance.

 

Over the last six years, fundraising events but also volunteering trips has given the chance to Project Kenya to support many students in primary or high schools but also to launch different programs such as ballet, soccer clinics, photography and art classes. During the trips, the volunteers spend lots of time with the locals families, teach at school or after-school, renovate buildings, paint murals and create events such Kibera ArtFest to promote young artists or a Pitch Competition to allocate micro-loans and training to young entrepreneurs. They definitely bring back home smiles and great memories but also a sense of accomplishment.

Lately, Project Kenya has focused also on helping vocational training programs for Young Mothers in Kibera with the help of Passion To Share Foundation and Uweza Foundation. Project Kenya became a platform between US donors and local charities.
